When I saw this, a word that came to mind was Spectacular! The intricacy and complexity of the detail just knocked my socks off!
This amazing Crazy Quilt is approximately 6 by 6 in size.
The amount of work that went in to this quilt is remarkable, here are some of the features:
It has ”Mama” embroidered in red along one of the greenish-blue/teal borders.
It is dated with 1884 embroidery
An 1884 Democratic Convention usher Ribbon
Many embroideries over the entire quilt, perhaps 50 – 60 By Count.
Many different types of Hand StitchingIt has backing and padding.
Many embroideries cross the different pieces.
Their are birds, dogs , horse, butterflies, flowers, the American flag, ships, people and more.
